Raul Tamayo, M.D.

Prevention is key to the promotion of good health in our children.  I believe that optimal care can be achieved through active participation from the medical practitioner, as well as the patient and their family.

Biography

Dr. Raul C. Tamayo obtained his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, where he graduated Cum Laude.  He completed a post-graduate internship and a one-year externship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Santo Tomas University Hospital.  His medical training also includes an internship in pediatrics at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Chicago, and a residency in Pediatrics at Loyola University Medical Center.

Prior to joining Vanguard Medical Group, Dr. Tamayo was a general pediatric practitioner at Family Medical Clinic at Hansford County in Spearman, Texas, where he served patients in four counties.  He was the chief of medical staff at Hansford County Hospital for two years, hospice director for one year, and city health officer for three years.

Board Certified in pediatrics, Dr. Tamayo is a member of the American Association of Pediatrics and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Dr. Tamayo is a pediatrician serving patients in Riverside and throughout Chicago.
