Katherine Tynus, M.D.

Biography

Dr. Tynus graduated from Northwestern University, earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center with an emphasis in primary care. She served as MacNeal’s Internal Medicine Chief Resident in 1996 and subsequently joined the medical staff. As the Program Director of MacNeal’s Transitional Year Residency Program, Dr. Tynus plays an active role in training medical students and residents. She has conducted research on breast cancer and medical education. She is board certified and is a member of the AMA, the American Medical Women’s Association, and the Association for Hospital Medical Education. She was recently honored as a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Tynus has a special interest in health promotion and disease prevention. She speaks Spanish fluently, lives in Chicago and is the mother of two small children. Dr. Tynus looks forward to meeting you and serving your health needs.
