Dr. Akpofure specializes in preventive medicine, which promotes lifestyle choices that encourage patients to take an active role in achieving and maintaining optimum wellness. She believes this partnership is the key to better health and a healthier community. Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Akpofure is an avid runner who also enjoys reading, experimenting with new recipes and sharing experiences from her native Nigeria.
Biography
Dr. Akpofure earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and her medical degree from The Ohio State University. Her residency program in Family Medicine was completed at Vanguard MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois. A board-certified member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Akpofure is actively involved in a number of family health initiatives.
