Vanguard Medical Group is proud to be the premier sponsor for “Hour Town,” the summer outdoor art display of hand-painted grandfather clocks in La Grange. The Hour Town theme plays on the title of playwright Thornton Wilder’s drama, “Our Town,” as well as the hours on a clock face.

This is the village’s seventh annual outdoor art festival with local businesses and community groups purchasing the 6-foot clocks made of composite material, supported by the La Grange Business Association. Past themes for the colorful outdoor art fair included rocking chairs, art easels, rain barrels, Adirondack chairs, elephants and pets. After the decorated clocks are displayed throughout the summer, each will be auctioned September 7th to benefit either the sponsoring organization or another local charity.

Vanguard Medical Group worked with the children at Little People’s Country to paint their handprint on our clock. The handprints symbolize growing up healthy which is in line with our mission of “Health for Life.” Once the clocks were decorated, they were sealed with a protective coating to be weatherproofed. A round base for each clock was bolted to sidewalks throughout the central business district for display from May 31st until September. If you happen to be in La Grange, be sure to be on the lookout for the clock with the cutest little handprints.
